New George Harrison Comp Album “Let It Roll”…Includes “Something (Live From Concert For Bangladesh)”
Rock God Cred Report:
Click here to check George Harrison’s “Something (Live From The Concert For Bangladesh)”…just one of many gems on the new George Harrison career compilation album “Let It Roll”…It comes stacked with the essential solo cuts from “All Things Must Pass” …”What Is Life”, “My Sweet Lord”, “Isn’t It a Pity”, and “The Ballad of Sir Frankie Crisp”…and three prime live versions of Beatles classics from The Concert For Bangladesh “Something”, “Here Comes The Sun”, and “While My Guitar Gently Weeps”.
Capitol also cherry picks the nuggets from the rest of the solo lp’s…”Give Me Love (Give Me Peace On Earth”, “Blow Away”, “All Those Years Ago”, etc..
The one thing that surprised me were the last hits of Harrison “I Got My Mind Set on You”, and especially “When We Was Fab”. I was not the biggest fan of these two singles when they origianally came out…not sure why? Maybe it was the videos at the time? Slightly irritating. My eyes are opened again to the cleverness of Mr. Harrison. The compilation is quite satisfying (although I would have liked the addition of “Crackerbox Palace”, and “If Not For You”)…oh well. I will take what I can get!
