Rock God Cred Report:

Click here to check a cut from Kiss drummer Peter Criss “Tears”…that’s the tune that John Waite (of The Babys) made popular in the 80’s on his “No Brakes” album.  Thanks to Jon for passing this on to me.

Paul Stanley of Kiss “Shandi (Acoustic)(Australian TV Version)”…Plus Two Other Live Versions

kiss unmasked bigRock God Cred Report:

Still a cool album cover, and I always dug the guy in the last frame saying “I Still Say They Stink”.  Haaaaaaaaaa!

In an earlier Kiss post I was talking out loud saying that I would like to hear an “acoustic only” version of Shandi by Kiss.  Our pal Jon came up with two live cuts, and a video of this this tune done acoustically.  We were able to turn the video into an mp3 so here ya go!

Click here to check Paul Stanley “Shandi (Acoustic Version on the Australian Today Show)”…Paul’s a little raspy from the morning shoot, but still a damn good version.  Pardon the long intro…it wasn’t edited down to start right at the song.

Click here to check Kiss “Shandi/Plaster Caster (Live)…

Popdose Report:

Click here to go to Popdose to check a big batch of 80’s era Kiss “Lick It Up”, “Tears are Falling”, “Heaven’s on Fire”, “A World Without Heroes”, “Let’s Put The X Back in Sex”, “Crazy Crazy Nights”, “Reason to Live”, “Hide Your Heart”…and probably one tune that we have all forgotten “Shandi” off of “Unmasked”…boy it sounds a little dated now.  I bet this song would sound pretty damn good as a straight acoustic cut.  Just Stanley and a guitar.  Drop the 70’s production.

Ace Frehley “New York Groove”

ace-frehley-newFeel My Bicep Report:

Click here to go to FMB to check Ace Frehley’s “New York Groove”…whoa…what are the odds that we find two solo Kiss tunes within a couple of days.  Oh yes…many remember Ace’s solo album as the best of the four that were released.  Plus check the cover pictured above.  You get a free Ace Frehley mask when you bought the 45!  Haaa!  Now we’re talking.  I don’t understand why today’s artists don’t give out free masks these days.

This song still kicks a little ass.

Gene Simmons “See You In Your Dreams”

gene-simmons-soloThe Days of Lore Report:

Click here to go to TDOL to check Gene Simmons’ “See You In Your Dreams”…damn when I was little,  my big bro worked in a record store, and grabbed me a big ass promo cardboard display of the 4 solo lp’s.  I sill have it.  Loved this band as a youngster…my “Creem” & “Circus” magazine reading days.
